The Kafue Solar project is a 56 MWp PV project being developed by Globeleq in Zambia. Located near the town of Kafue, in the Lusaka Province. The project consists of two co-located 20 MWac solar PV plants (totalling 40 MWac contracted capacity) and includes a 3.5km powerline connecting to the Kafue town substation.

This initiative is part of Globeleq’s broader renewable energy expansion in Zambia, which was awarded the project as part of the Global Energy Transfer Feed-in Tariff (GET FiT) Zambia competitive tendering programme managed by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Zambia in partnership with the German Development Bank, KfW to support Zambia’s transition to a more sustainable and climate-resilient energy sector.
