AZITO ENERGIE – CHANGE OF MANAGING DIRECTOR
The Directors of Azito Energie are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hippolyte Aka as the Managing Director of Azito Energie from 1st March 2025. Hippolyte succeeds Mr. Luc Ayé, who is retiring after 18 years as Managing Director.
Hippolyte Aka brings a wealth of experience to this position having been Executive Managing Director for Southern, Central and Eastern Africa at GE Vernova Gas Power since 2019. Previously, Hippolyte was Senior Services and Operations Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at GE Gas Power from 2014 to 2019 where he managed operations in more than 20 countries. Hippolyte also worked at Siemens Energy in Texas, USA, from 2007 to 2014. Hippolyte holds an MBA with a finance focus and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Houston.
Luc has been the Managing Director of Azito Energie since 2007 and has been at the heart of the Azito power plant’s growth, from 300 MW to its current capacity of 713 MW. Following his retirement, Luc will remain on the board of Azito Energie as a non-executive Director to support the handover of responsibilities and assist with stakeholder engagement.
