Konkoonsies Solar Power is one of the first solar projects developed under South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) in the Northern Cape Province. Located approximately 33 km northeast of Pofadder, the 11 MWp solar PV facility is situated on a 20-hectare site in the Khâi-Ma Local Municipality. The plant consists of 40,000 crystalline silicon solar panels that generate renewable electricity for export into Eskom’s 33 kV distribution network. Globeleq is the majority shareholder and is responsible for the asset management of the facility.
