LHPC Solar is a 28 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant located near Kabwe in Zambia’s Central Province. The project complements LHPC’s existing hydroelectric operations and forms part of the company’s strategy to diversify its renewable energy generation portfolio while supporting Zambia’s growing electricity demand.
The plant commenced commercial operations in June 2026 and supplies electricity into the national grid, strengthening LHPC’s ability to provide reliable, clean energy to both utility and private sector customers. As the first major solar development within the LHPC portfolio, the project represents an important milestone in expanding renewable energy generation in Zambia.
