Malindi Solar
The 52MWp Malindi Solar project is located 40 km from Malindi town. The project, consisting of 157,000 solar panels, provides power to Kenya Power under a 20-year PPA and is one of the first IPP owned utility scale solar plants in the country. It is also the only renewable plant located in the coastal area.
Globeleq and Malindi Solar Group completed construction in 2021 and started generating to the grid in December 2021.
