Temane 450 MW Gas Project

The Temane Gas Fired Power Station is a 450 MW natural gas fired power project located in Inhambane Province, Mozambique. The project will supply reliable power to Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) under a 25-year tolling agreement using natural gas from the Pande and Temane fields. Once operational, the plant is expected to provide electricity for more than 800 000 consumers, strengthening Mozambique’s energy security and supporting economic growth. Construction commenced in 2022. The project also anchors the 563 km Temane Transmission Project (TTP), which will support the interconnection of Mozambique’s southern, central and northern electricity networks. Together, the power plant, transmission infrastructure and associated gas developments represent an investment of more than US$2 billion.
