Globeleq's 153 MW / 612 MWh Red Sands project in the Northern Cape is a Preferred Bidder in South Africa’s Energy Storage Capacity Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (ESIPPPP) and will be Globeleq's first large-scale BESS project in South Africa.
The Globeleq-led Central Térmica de Temane (CTT) 450 MW gas-fired power project, located at Temane in Inhambane Province in Mozambique, will supply low-cost, reliable power to Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) under a 25-year tolling agreement using natural gas supplied from the Pande-Temane Fields
Globeleq and its partner, Source Energia, are in the final stages of developing Mozambique's first wind farm project. Namaacha is a 120MW wind project in southern Mozambique, approximately 50 kms west of Maputo.
Menengai is a 35 MW greenfield geothermal project & part of the first phase of the wider Menengai complex, the second large-scale geothermal field being developed in Kenya after Olkaria. Globeleq will operate and maintain the power plant once it reaches commercial operations expected end of 2025.
